Bio:

Antje Heese-Peck was born and raised in Dortmund, Germany, where she developed an early passion for art, experimenting with different media. Her academic journey in plant biology took her around the world and ultimately brought her to Columbia, Missouri, where she held a faculty position in MU Biochemistry since 2006 and now serves as Professor Emerita. As a plant cell biochemist, Antje investigates the intricate inner workings of nature, while her artistic practice provides a complementary creative counterbalance. Working across diverse media, she steps beyond the structured world of science to explore organic patterns inspired by nature.
