Rhonda Schrage is a mixed media artist based in Jefferson City, Missouri, whose work explores the beauty found “beneath the surface.” Combining acrylics, collage, and found materials—like dried paint peeled from her palette, torn sketchbook pages, sewing patterns, and gold leaf—she builds rich layers of texture and meaning. Each painting begins with a hidden written message, a personal reflection or scripture that becomes the foundation for color and form to emerge. Through building up and scraping away, her process mirrors life itself—revealing that what’s unseen often shapes what we become. Rhonda’s work invites collectors to slow down, look closer, and discover the stories layered within.
