Bio:
Leandra Spangler’s earliest memory of needle, thread and cloth is hand-stitching cotton squares as her third grade teacher read Little House on the Prairie to the class. Her fiber arts journey began in earnest when she began making paper by hand. Spangler’s studies have expanded and include sculptural basketry, book binding, knotless netting, slow stitching, piecing, free motion, dyeing, stamping, rusting, rescuing vintage garments and refashioning. After teaching art in the public schools for twenty five years, Leandra Spangler became a full time studio artist in June 2000. She holds a Master’s in (art) Education from the University of Missouri. Spangler continues to teach at conferences, guilds and locally in her studio.
