Bio:

Antje Heese-Peck was born and raised in Dortmund, Germany, where she developed an early passion for art, experimenting with various media. Her academic journey in plant biology ultimately brought her to MU, where she has held a faculty position in Biochemistry since 2006, and Columbia, Missouri has been her home ever since. As a plant cell biochemist, she explores the intricate inner workings of nature, while her artistic practice offers a complementary creative counterbalance. Through the cyanotype printing technique, she steps away from the structured world of science to explore organic patterns inspired by nature.
