With a background in biology, anthropology, and psychology and three decades as an experimental biologist working with cultured cells, it is no wonder that physiological themes appear in my work. But as I experience it, art is an escape from science and a chance to depict fantastical landscapes or supernatural dramas and to give form to ideas, emotions, and dreams.
