Chicago native John Fennell has been a painter for more than 35 years and now works out of Orr Street Studios in Columbia. He attended the American Academy of Art in Chicago and later earned a master's degree in painting and drawing at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He has exhibited in Chicago, Milwaukee, Hong Kong, and throughout Missouri. He is an emeritus professor of Journalism from MU, where he taught magazine writing, design and publishing. Before teaching he was a journalist and magazine editor.
