Porcupine Woman

Porcupine Woman

This is Xopa's first luted crucible bronze created from beeswax and thick bronze wire. Porcupine Woman shares the attributes of Porcupine, which is a good-natured creature, with abundant curiosity, a sense of great wonderment of the world, and a highly perfected self-defense mechanism – 5.5” long, 4.5” tall, and 2.5” wide. This small bronze sculpture is part of a line that's based on animal, flora, and spiritual attributes combined with a human form. The bronze process here is called the “Luted Crucible”, which is an ancient form of bronze casting that is still done today in Nepal, India, Africa, Santa Fe, and Xopa's own backyard. She learned her luted crucible technique while in Santa Fe from the wizened teacher, Piers Watson, www.luted-crucible.org.

Milkweed Pod People

Milkweed Pod People

This is a bronze created from an actual milkweed pod and beeswax. The original design was a response to the two natural compartments within the pod itself and a sense of duality – female/male, yin/yang, receptive/projective. Duality is said to be the Universe learning to know itself – approximately 4.5” long, 2” wide, & 2.5”tall. Xopa has several small bronze sculptures for sale in a line that's based on animal, flora, and spiritual attributes combined with a human form. The bronze process here is called the “Luted Crucible”, which is ancient form of bronze casting that is still done today in Nepal, India, Africa, Santa Fe, and in her own backyard. She learned her luted crucible technique while in Santa Fe from the wizened teacher, Piers Watson, www.luted-crucible.org.

Eye of Elysium

Eye of Elysium

“The EoE was created in response to a longing of Source. I wanted to create an image as a reminder of that longing. Inspiration for the EoE came from many sources – Renaissance paintings, praying and meditation. It symbolizes an upturned eye that is disconnecting from this three- dmensional non-reality and connecting to super-reality. Source is however you personally view it as both Yogis and devout Christians now possess the EoE as their own spiritual talisman.” The  Eye of Elysium can come with or without and Swarovski crystal or “Bliss Tear”. Chains can be either silver or rubber with silver clasps - 1.75” tall & .6” wide.

Tiger Moth Pendant

Tiger Moth Pendant

The Tiger Moth pendant came from collecting an actual moth that sadly died on her mother’s kitchen window 35 years ago. As a pendant, it is always a reminder of Xopa's old home. She kept the moth in a box vowing to use it someday as a visual source. Last year she created this highly contrastive silver piece of a solid troy ounce of sterling silver, which has 23 kt. gold keum- boo, an ancient Korean technique of adhering gold to sterling silver, representing the inner part of the moth’s body -2.75” wide & 3” tall with bail.
