Sun Salutations for the Winter Solstice

In this strange season

of setting and rising,

in the letting go,

and the holding on,

with all this swan diving

and heart centering,

may some moments

find you and keep you

just as you are, off balance,

winding along a narrow precipice,

nearly to the newness,

but not quite, because first,

you are here

in the pinks and orange,

the impossible fuchsia,

the "Was that a snowflake?"

and "Is this enough?"

in the deep ocean breath

that swells in the back

of your lungs, in the quiet

of dusk, and the answering yes.
