Ages bring some benefits, drawbacks too. For instance, you learn how to make hiding look like vulnerability. So dinner parties become more interesting.
You also learn which minerals you may be deficient in, which ones help your bones, your skin, your vision, sleep, blood pressure, bowel movements. An exciting time of discovery, despite life becoming more routine than ever; clocks and calendars govern you.
Piggy banks rise, fall, and new ones are invented, causing your mineral levels to rise, fall. If you took a razor blade to the soft flesh of your stomach a rainbow of supplement casings would spill out onto the floor and be gobbled, post-haste, by the hovering hound that follows you room to room.
Fragmentation of the whole, that’s how these eras appear. Casts of your former selves in narrow frames, in hallways you scroll through, day after bloody day as the battle rages.
