Through sinuous 

storm clouds another

dusk settles

The heart sinks

who can harness wind 

or tether the wild?

Silent exhalation

loosens the lung

breath begets fire

Ascending embers 

unfurl into wings

talons grip heaven

Weathervane deftly 

spins crowing dawn’s 

latent fury
