Demystifying Watercolor Painting with Marilyn Cummins
Come get comfortable with the versatile medium of watercolor in this 6-week class geared toward beginning artists, artists wanting to dip their brushes in a new medium or explore new techniques, and continuing CAL watercolor students. We’ll develop the practice of using thumbnail value sketches for composition, work with color theory, learn how to let colors and shapes “bloom” when painting wet on wet, try out watercolor pencils and see how pen-and-ink line drawing can add definition and interest in a watercolor.
Class sessions will include landscape, still life and figure exercises, with room for you to bring in reference images you’d like to bring to life in watercolor using the techniques learned in class.
Taught by Marilyn Cummins. See more about Marilyn and her art at: www.invinciblesummerstudios.com
