Learning to create realistic likenesses in soft pastels is easy(er) if you can break it down into manageable, repeatable steps. In these classes, you’ll explore the nuances of your pastel collection, discover the secrets of selecting a strong reference, and test your choices before embarking on the final piece. In the end, you'll not only gain a deeper understanding of your pastels but you’ll also have a systematic approach to consistently produce realistic likenesses in soft pastels.

    • Uart 600 sanded paper: 9x12 pad

    • Soft Pastels & Pastel Pencils

    • Rubbing Alcohol (in a spritz bottle)

    • Kneaded Eraser

    • Foam Bits (pool noodle, pipe insulation, pick & pluck)

    • Reference Photo

    Supplies CAL has to share:

    • Masking Tape

    • Boards & Easels

    • Brushes

    • Vine Charcoal & Newsprint

    • Some Pool Noodle Pieces
