Beginning Embroidery w/ Mary Sandbothe (3 week)- Wednesdays, 6-8pm from November 6-November 20

Learn the basics of embroidery through various stitches and sampling in this 3 week class!
Once the basics are covered, students will learn how to push those techniques in new directions by discovering contemporary embroidery artists and how to use the medium in non traditional fashions.
Participants will complete their very own sampler & an embroidery of their own design.

Materials:
-6 in embroidery hoop (plastic or wooden)
-a variety of 6 strand embroidery flosses (DMC is the best brand)
-embroidery needles (several)
-one yard of cotton or linen fabric to embroider on (at least a yard..and can be new or repurposed)
-water soluble marker or disappearing marker (Dritz Purple Disappearing Ink Marking Pen works well)
-feel free to bring in whatever else you’d like to work with!
