Learn the basics of embroidery through various stitches and sampling in this 3 week class. Includes an overview of thread types, tools, fabric selection as well as instruction on the most versatile and useful stitches. We will provide tools and materials, if you would like to bring any of your own supplies the teacher would be happy to look them over and offer advice. Once the basics are covered, students will learn how to push those techniques in new directions by discovering contemporary embroidery artists & alternative stitching media. Participants will complete their very own sampler & an embroidery of their own design. This class is taught by Tavia Sanza.
